Women of Influence+ Announces 2025 Top 25 Women of Influence+ Canada Award Recipients
Women of Influence+, a global organization dedicated to advancing women's leadership and workplace equity, has announced the recipients of the 2025 Top 25 Women of Influence+ Canada Awards. These honorees, representing diverse fields such as policy, innovation, advocacy, and economic development, are redefining leadership in Canada. Their impact extends across industries and communities, driving systemic change and inspiring future generations.
Maricel Dicion, Managing Director of Women of Influence+, emphasized that leadership is not only about transforming systems but also about creating opportunities for others to lead change. The selection process saw several hundred applications submitted between November 25, 2024, and January 12, 2025.
The 2025 Top 25 Women of Influence+ Canada Award recipients are:
Michelle Acorn – A leader in healthcare reform, Acorn expands nurse practitioner leadership and drives systemic change in Canada’s health policies.
Karen Bliss – An investigative journalist and industry advocate, Bliss has exposed systemic abuse in Canada’s music scene, setting new accountability standards through fearless reporting.
Danielle Campo McLeod – A Paralympic gold medalist and advocate, McLeod has raised over $5 million for neuromuscular research, inspiring resilience and action.
Kookai Chaimahawong – A sustainability leader at UBC Sauder’s Centre for Climate and Business Solutions, Chaimahawong equips small businesses with tools to scale climate action.
Narima Dela Cruz – A community leader mobilizing Canada’s Filipino diaspora through national advocacy, civic engagement, and grassroots initiatives.
Dr. Marjan Eggermont – An engineering innovator, Eggermont integrates art, science, and sustainability to address the climate crisis.
Dr. Liisa Galea – A global leader in women’s brain health, Galea reshapes research and policy on sex, gender, and mental health.
Jayna Hefford – The Executive VP of Hockey Operations for the PWHL, Hefford is leading reforms in women’s hockey and setting a global standard for professional women’s sports.
Katherine Henderson – A champion for inclusion and equity in hockey, Henderson is transforming the sport’s culture and advocating for women’s and para hockey.
Katherine Homuth – Founder of SRTX, Homuth is revolutionizing the hosiery industry through sustainable innovation and local production.
Dr. Hadis Karimipour – A cybersecurity expert, Karimipour utilizes AI to protect critical infrastructure and advance women’s participation in STEM.
Annie Kidder – As the leader of People for Education, Kidder ensures the voices of students and educators shape Canada’s education system.
Nadia Ladak – The founder of Marlow, Ladak reimagines women’s health, pioneering the world’s first lubricated tampon and securing 2 million Dollar in funding.
Weyni Mengesha – As Artistic Director of Soulpepper Theatre, Mengesha is elevating underrepresented voices and reshaping Canadian theatre.
Chris McMartin – A driving force behind the Scotiabank Women Initiative, McMartin expands access to capital and mentorship for women entrepreneurs.
Maya (Bharti) Nathani – A healthcare innovator, Nathani integrates advanced technology with patient-centered care to transform senior healthcare.
Naomi Racette – The leader of the Future Generations Foundation, Racette empowers First Nations communities through transformative funding initiatives.
Teresa Resch – A trailblazer in sports, Resch is leading the launch of Canada’s first WNBA team, Toronto Tempo.
Noura Sakkijha – The CEO of Mejuri, Sakkijha drives sustainable luxury while promoting social impact through initiatives like the Empowerment Fund.
Dr. Krishana Sankar – A public health advocate, Sankar combats misinformation and amplifies marginalized voices in healthcare.
Sharmila Sriram – The founder and CEO of Spectrum Medical Diagnostics, Sriram pioneers AI-driven solutions for equitable healthcare access.
Reeana Tazreean – A global health advocate, Tazreean empowers youth to drive systemic change in healthcare policy.

Dr. Wendy Wolfman – A leading menopause specialist, Wolfman created Canada’s only menopause fellowship program and advances groundbreaking clinical research.
Lily YangLiu – A climate advocate, YangLiu fosters youth leadership through climate literacy workshops and activism.
The recipients will be honored at an awards luncheon on April 8, 2025, at The Quay, Toronto Region Board of Trade, where attendees will have the opportunity to engage with influential leaders and change-makers. The 2025 awards are supported by Clinique and Dean Davidson, who have provided gifts for the honorees.
